It's hard to believe we've been in Germany for a month already! Time has flown by! We moved into our long-term home 3 weeks ago & we've settled in nicely. We live in the Oberkassel area of Dusseldorf. It is a little conjested, but convenient to everything. The tram runs by every 10 minutes with a stop just 300 yards from the house. Good for Jaymie since he's taking the trains to work every day.

The kids are doing well in school. Ross seems to have fit right in - already making lots of friends & several playdates to go along with them. Emma is more shy, but her weeks are improving from one to the next. Third grade can be tough for any girl, but even more so when you're the new kid. There are 22 in her class & only 6 are boys. Can't even imagine the hormones raging in that classroom! I'm so proud of both kids - they're trying so hard to make this home. They have both joined the soccer & golf activities through school & have met lots of friends with that.

Jaymie's new job is going very well. It's stressful, but also very exciting to be part of something this big. Everyday is a new challenge & we all know that's just what he likes.

I'm also settling in pretty well. I've made lots of great friends with the moms from school. Even joined the Bayer Wives Club! It's a fun group of ladies that love to travel & attend wine tastings -I'm all about that! Also took up golf. I start private lessons next week while the kids are in their group lessons. Might as well learn while I have the chance! I'm also working on private training at the ski hall for myself & the kids. Again, we might as well. It's not like we'll ever again live 10 minutes from an indoor ski hall. It's the perfect place to train - one good blue slope with some pretty good icy spots & very little grooming. Perfect conditions for great yard sales!! Yes, I face-planted so well last weekend that I still have whiplash! I may have even tied Mark C. for the best wipe-out!

Hope all is going well in the Great State of Texas! We're not ready to leave Germany yet, but we sure miss the big cars, warm weather & mexican food!

Hey there, sounds as though you have the candle lit on both ends-take care of yourself(ves), get some rest now and again, and enjoy!

The blog is a great idea for you guys to share your experiences. We are really enjoying reading about your adventures. Sorry that Ross broke his arm, but he does appear ? happy ? or proud about it.

Hey Heather, so you feel that you tied for best yardsale!?! I appreciate you trying to make me feel better about my historic yardsale. I hope that you did not tie my full-speed-to-zero-in-about-5'-4"(my body height)-faceplant with resulting loss of all ski equipment but if you did, I can feel your pain and suffering.

You guys have to slow down as I am documenting this, but running out of ink and paper. Anyway the paperback edition should be arriving at a bookstore near you, right after Jaymie and Heather "run with the bulls!'
